Automation for Smarter Rebar Fabrication

Muscat steel Industry’s Cut & Bend Division is equipped with advanced technology and automated computerized machineries for cutting and bending of reinforcing steel which helps in smarter rebar fabrication. This high tech environment results in reducing delivery time and wastage, also the products are built with high accuracy.

Following are the detailed information about few of our major machines,

1. Automatic Shear Cutting Machine (Quantity -3)

These shear-lines are from the leading European manufacturers, which are the workhorses and have a capacity to shear around 300 tons of steel per day depending on its diameter, number of cuts and other requirements. This machine can be operated in fully automatic, semi-automatic or manual mode.

2. Automatic Robotic Double Bending Machine (Quantity -5)

These are from the leading European manufacturers and are mainly used as occasions where the bends need to be carried out at both ends of the bar. As its name indicates, it is used to process two bends at the same time with much higher efficiency as compared to other conventional bending machines. These are advanced computer controlled machines and thus can be operated and used in fully-automatic, Semi-automatic or manual modes.

3. Single Bending Machines (Quantity – 4)

This bending machine is from leading European manufacturers and is specially designed for bending the bars which are used for reinforcing concrete. This isfully automatic system which is used for bending precut bars without any human intervention in the process. It has a rigid structure which helps in avoiding breakdowns of the system and increases the productivity. The operational speed of this machine is 1450/910 rpm and is also known for accurately bending the deformed bars of up to 40 mm.

4. Spiral Bender (Quantity – 1)

The Spiral also known as Hoop machine can be used for processing steel which is of diameter 8 mm to 32 mm. It is an efficient machine fully equipped advanced features, can bend and carry out the process in double speed compared to others for producing special shapes like spiral, radius or arc bending.

5. Multibend Stirrup Bender (Quantity – 1)

This is a speedy and flexible stirrup bending machine which is used for the production of various types and dimensions of products. They are also used for small and medium stirrups, slabs and small and medium shaped parts for the process of precast. The major benefit in this machine is the low consumption of electricity and uses electrical servomotors and hydraulic components results in production with high precision and efficient products. It is used for executing any type of polygonal stirrups, hoops, spirals and shapes for slabs as per requirement. With this extraordinary concept from commercial aspect, this machine has the capability of quick loading of bars and minimum off-cuts which acts as an add-on feature to this machine.

The diameters of rod that can be processed using this machine are:

  • 1 wire: 8-10-12-14 mm
  • 2 wires: 8-10-12 mm
  • Bi-directional bend

6. Stirrup Benders (Quantity – 7)

These machines are also from the leading manufacturers in Europe and are used for the production of stirrups at a capacity of 150 M/min. They are capable of operating with two stands of 8 mm, 10 mm or 12 mm diameter of deformed steel.

The production tolerances of stirrups which is produced from these machines are,

Side length (max.) + 5 mm (Normal + 1 mm)
Angles (max.) + 2 Degree (Normal + 1 Degree)

7. Material Handling Crane (Quantity – 6)

The efficiency in the production of any cut and bend factories is calculated according to its speed of loading and offloading and its capacity to handle the materials required for the process. The entire material handling on the production environment of Muscat Steel is processed through overhead cranes and thus it increases the efficiency of work.

Software

We use advanced software for tracking and maintaining the work process. Our software generates Bar Bending Schedules, Placement drawing, Tags, Fabrication reports and loading list for each order we process. It helps in maintain the delivery time and a proper order to the work flow for each production.
It provides a unique identification job codes for the production in site wise and client wise aspect which helps for identification of each project and accordingly keep a track of its status.
